Racers, put aside everything you think you know about Yoga and give it a closer look.

Right to the jump Racers and you non-Racers, who are subscribing too. ( love that by the way!)

Health benefits of Yoga that I don't believe can be duplicated in any other less than one hour workout:

1. Raw strength (racer bonus)

2. Muscle Endurance (racer bonus bonus)

3. Increased flexibility

4. Stronger lungs

5. Calmness of mind (Racer mega bonus there!)

6. A feeling of being in the moment and less bothered by life's inconveniences

7. Greater contentment

8. The feeling all day like you just stepped out of a long relaxing dip in the hot tub

9. Speeding up of the metabolism for weight loss

10. better sleep

11. more effective digestion

12. more effect prevention and recover from injury

One of my great friends and supporters from facebook is a lady named Ashley Holman.

(She's a personal chef by the way and I want to get her working with us on a Top Fuel Nutrition Cookbook. Stay tuned) Anyhow, she is a huge believer in Yoga. I would't call myself a skeptic. I would call myself uneducated overall. This probably lead me to fall back on some stereotypes and rigid thinking. I have been at this a while and I have never been a student of Yoga.

Let me share with you her thoughts from a few weeks back as I was doing some investigation into things:

Consider her my personal Yogi. (that's the word for Yoga expert. Here's a file photo I found.

yikes. hey you never know where serious practice will lead.

With due respect to Ashley and the rest, here is a better known Yogi

Here is my perspective on Yoga and how it has dramatically changed me both physically and mentally: Mentally: 1.Stress level has been greatly reduced since I started doing this. 2.More mentally calm than I have ever been! My focus has sharpened up big time too! 3.More self-confident than ever and more appreciative of how I look now! 4. I look forward to doing this everyday, it makes me feel awesome! Physically: 1. More defined, sleeker body and muscle tone 2. My flexibility has dramatically improved 3. It has been a major factor in my massive weight loss!(203lbs to date!!!) 4. Since I have been practicing Yoga my breathing has gotten better, I dont get as winded when I go jogging or walking now!

Racers, I am going to tell you something: Racers Workout doesn't currently have a Yoga workout, but don't be surprised if that changes. Ashley's testimonial is so powerful that I have a hard time reading it with shivering. We focus on flexibility as one of the golden keys to health and overall Race Success. Stretching is wonderful and does help us achieve that calmness of mind for ice calm and focus needed to make winning moves on the track. Yoga supercharges that effect.  I want you to try it and do it for that alone. The longer a session the more of the strength, flexibility and endurance benefits you will see. But a mere few minutes will bring you to that relaxed state of mind that will increase your chances for racing success.

I'd love it if some of you would check out this short yoga video. Power Yoga for Sports by Gwen Lawrence.  I picked it from Youtube; give it a whirl and then share your results. If you can take one day a week and incorporate 15 minutes of yoga, I am betting you'll see some results that will make you want to do more. If you are football fan, you'll recognize some of these guys.

maybe a 12th benefit, should you all decide to participate in group class at your gym

Also  want to thank my fans in East Asia for sending me this cool article on competitive racers and fitness including power yoga. Check out those benefits!!

Racers or just my fans,  if you wanna explore more about Yoga for racing or any other peak performance or fitness idea, all you gotta do is email me at Russbohaty@gmail.com. I have an open line policy and I will get to you as quickly as I can.  The response to what we are doing here has been so good. All I gotta say is look out.
