Mail Carrier Joey bringing it on home in Melbourne, Australia
Although I am very new to the internet, I can't deny it's awesome power to bring people together and share ideas. In today's Mail Time, were talking with a Racer over in Australia about how to keep getting that workout in when you don't have any time. I figured this is one we can all relate to.
G'Day Russ
I posted on your FB page and race V8 Dirt Modifieds in Australia.
I have started working out to get ready for next race season down here as it is now our off season and am just currently working on getting some cardio strength back and dropping a few unwanted kgs.
Just emailing you so I can get a copy of your Top Fuel Nutrition Guide - its hard to stay creative and eat good food all the time without getting bored.
During the off season I am also doing a lot of shift work and working on the mines in the outback - there are not many gyms out there so it would be great to get some good body weight exercises and good cardio plans etc so that I can work out after a 12 hour shift instead of going to the Wet Mess with a lot of the guys and drinking a lot of Beer.
Also what do you believe the best way to keep track of cardio will be when I am running out in the bush, its not like I will have a treadmill to tell me how far and fast I am running or keep my heart rate monitored.
Any help or insights would be much appreciated - being confident in yourself and your fitness will give me confidence in my race car...... Confidence is a big part of winning races I think!
Cheers
Daniel
My answer, but first I can't resist this quick tribute to some of my favorite Australians:

Oh that sequel. Why? Why? Anyway, still a great Australian.

Still trying to get ONJ to star in my next Racers Workout video.

Found at a Wet Mess near you.
Hey Daniel,
Thanks for your interest and taking the time to write. I attached Top Fuel Nutrition. It is a whole new way to look at eating. Like I am fond of saying: it isn't a "diet". Diets are not for men or women who want to be strong, vital and full of energy.
I think it will really help you to find and maintain an ideal weight. Do me a favor and throw down some reviews online when you are done. Good, bad and everything in between. Let me know when you do so I can follow along.
One thing that stands out is that you have a physical job right now. So you get the effect of cross training on a regular basis in the off season. The issue is what you say: getting the heart rate up. Within the confines of your work do you have the freedom to ramp up your exertion for a minute here and there? Try doing that. A minute of max exertion every 20 minutes to a half hour, like if you are doing repetitive lifting or driving of a tool (I am not a miner so I am going off no knowledge about the job)
I know I sold a few Racers Workouts in Australia already, but I can't remember if you own it or not. I say you should try it for a couple months and if you don't like it, return it for a refund.
Oh yeah for body weight exercises with no requirement of weights: You tube has some great free resources. A lot of them are practiced by the military. Racers Workout has the free Couch Potato's Workout included as a bonus, that is full of simple body weight exercises that don't require weights. Shaun T's Insanity workout by Beach Body is an excellent no weights full body workout as well.

***You all might have noticed that I sent Daniel Top Fuel Nutrition from Racers Workout? Why? Because a fitness regimen must first master nutrition. If you want a copy to try out, email me at RussBohaty@gmail.com. I am very confident you have never been exposed to an eating guide like it. It will restore your faith in eating and loving it!
On the subject of Interval training and what it is about: I am a huge fan. The thing to know is that it is best done supervised by an experienced trainer. I'd prefer that if you want to incorporate aggressive interval training to your Racers Workout, that we stay in contact so I can tailor a plan to your needs. It's a very powerful concept when done properly. We'll cover more on that area in future articles.
