Women in Racing, it's not just for Danica anymore

Truthfully though, it never was.

Hey Racers. There is no getting around it. Although to some she is "brassy" and polarizing, Danica Patrick has been super for the sport of racing. She's tough, skilled, and determined. People who are troubled by her non-conventional marketing style, are entitled to their opinion. But in a lot of ways she is making it so much easier for the women behind the wheel who will also eventually reach the level she is at. Hear me out.

All sports need high profile trail blazers who aren't afraid to toot their horn and be out there for the mainstream.  Next year she will racing full time on the Nationwide series of NASCAR with an eye toward full Sprint Cup schedule. Awesome. No matter what she does, as long as she does it her way and is serious about winning, it is awesome for other women racers. Feel free to comment and email if you disagree or agree or whatever. It is a heck of an interesting topic.

The next phase is about depth of female talent on all levels. As recently as last year, it was clear that a serious revolution was happening and had been coming on for years. The fact is,  Racing is top heavy in terms of mainstream interest. NASCAR owns the hearts and minds of the general race fan here in the US. The other styles and levels are left to fight for the scraps as far as coverage.  That's a shame, but it still doesn't change the facts of what is happening with rise of great female racers. Just that it is happening just behind mainstream view. The serious race fans are always sending me messages about the topic.

I am staying up with it by following a very exciting and well done online magazine:  Female Racing News. I have been fortunate enough to meet the lady who runs their awesome website on Twitter. She has a standing offer to be a guest columnist right here on the Motorsports Peak Performance Magazine we all share. The energy and excitement surrounding women in racing is captured perfectly on the Female Racing News site. Subscribe and tell me if you don't see what I see.

Now, I may be dumb, but I ain't stupid. I have many female clients and I have many racer clients, but I am way short on female racers as clients. That's got to change. It will. Like the Female Racing News says:  "The Girls who show the boys how it's done".

I love it and dang it I wanna see it happen on a large scale. Competition is the life blood of this great sport. The women are bringing it.

***Let you know I am running a weekend special on Racers Workout. We're going to pull the $97 intro rate at some point very soon. So jump on it and get the benefit of direct consultation with me day and night. With the demand the way it is, I can't promise I'll always be able to offer that in the future.
