Giving Value to others should be your focus to live your dreams
I have observed closely elite athletes and how they approach becoming elite. My clients currently are race car champions like Kasey Kahne his Kasey Kahne Racing Team. We aren't all in the business of racing a car going 200 mph against other equally skilled drivers. But the idea of seeing up close and modeling the approach of the best is always a great idea if we too want to be elite or just better in our own arenas.
It might surprise you to know that I think that one mindset difference between the most successful and fulfilled and those struggling, is simply whether they are coming at life from a giving or taking place. The best among us are givers. They focus on giving value to those around them. They know that the more they give, the more they get back. Focus on making everyone's dreams come true and yours seem to automatically happen without effort.
Ray Kroc, whom I wrote about in a previous article, was the founder of the McDonald's chain of restaurants. His focus was never on "selling" anyone on everything. Kroc became a billionaire and built a worldwide empire because he took the approach of a giver. He looked at all the ways he could give people what they desired.
An elite athlete might seem like the most self-absorbed success there is. They work on "their" skills, "their" fitness, and are promoting "themselves" for greater gain. Yet, they are nothing without the fans. With no deep and rabid fan support, what they do is insignficant and just wouldn't pay very well. There isn't a move that Kasey Kahne makes with his career where he doesn't focus on giving back to the fans. His efforts undertaken training in my program for motorcycle and race car drivers are about being a winner. Being a winner means being true to his duty to be the best and not cutting corners. He gives and gets back exponentially more from his supporters.
