Auto Racing Fitness Magazine is in the Field
Hi Everyone,
I am out of pocket until late next week. Two big things going on. 1. I am checking in on my clients on the road. 2. I am promoting Racers Workout and this Magazine. Today, Monday and Wednesday October 5, I'll be publishing three of my favorite articles that I syndicated around the internet last year, but which you might not have seen. We'll be focusing on the champions mindset and approach.
First this: Russ' Easy Simple Fitness Tip
Studies show that prime sleep takes place between 10 pm and 6 a.m. Your results will be better with your workouts, you'll be more alert, and you'll build up your immune system against a variety of illnesses. Good consistent sleep is huge Racers.

The Difference Between Being Good and Being Excellent
|
I now train athletes, currently a group of elite professional racers, mostly because I have a life long love of sports. I'll flip a game on the radio when I am driving just to be part of the energy of the competition. When you travel around as much as I do working with my racer clients, you hear all levels of baseball announcing. There are minor league teams all over the country and you can reach a major league game in nearly every major metropolitan area. There is a distinct deviation between how an announcer for a major league team sounds v. an announcer for a minor league team. They both know the game equally as well, and they ordinarily contribute much the same energy and enthusiasm to describing the action. The thing that stands out is that the minor league announcer normally hasn't listened to himself. If he had, he would have sensed what the audience already senses. You notice them and what they are saying and you are critiquing them mentally. I liken it to an "embarrassed for him" feeling you get when someone at the family Christmas party has had a few too many and says something off base. I believe wholeheartedly that the major league announcer is no more gifted towards the job than the minor league announcer. There are many great talkers out there who are also sports fans who aspire to reach the heights of doing play by play for a major league team. It is clear that that the big time took the extraordinary step of all of the elite achievers in any area of life. They took the time and the ego blow of listening to themselves and then listening to others bludgeon their style or technique and were absolutely willing to do what it takes to be better. |
