Full time construction work is an example of a full body workout. You don't see many fat construction workers. Every muscle is engaged.

Hi Everyone,
Let's talk to one of my young aspiring racers and get some guidance on how to get in shape with the simplest of equipment. If we don't know where to turn, the emphasis should be on working quickly and using as much of the whole body as possible, do light weights with lots of reps (to prevent injury), keep moving without rest and set a short term time limit of 7 to 10 minutes (no more than 10). This will give you an awesome all around workout and get you feeling awake and alive.
This was from one of my young racer friends who I had previously advised to go easy on the weights. I like how he created a system for a full body workout that uses weights safely and very effectively. Take a look at it and tell me what you think. Racers there are super and super effective workouts for you to prepare for 2012. The great thing is you can take any elements of your Racers Workout and condense two or three exercises into a lightning workout. Just follow the rules above. Check this out!
I've been doing some weightlifting. I use a 30lb barbell. I'm getting ready to move up to 35lbs. I know a while back, you said to stay off the heavy weights. But, I just couldn't get away from the weights. I love it to much to just do push ups and sit ups.
But, my normal routine is like this: I use the 30lb barbell. I do 2 sets of 19 in 4 different ways right now without taking a break. Of course, you gotta work yourself up to this. Then, I take a break for a day to let my body rebuild itself. On the day I take a break from weightlifting I do sit-ups, crunches, and jackknives. I do 2 sets of 70 right now with sit-ups. Plus, I hold 15pds in my hands while doing this. I do 200 crunches, and do 3 sets of 50 second holds on the jackknives.
I love how he works quickly with no rest and doesn't require a lot of fancy weights. Whatever weight you have that will allow you to do a lot of reps, is a great weight to use. Key for a lightning workout. In our next couple issues I am going to give you some lightning full-body workouts based on Racers Workout that you can use any day when you can't do the full workout.

I know what you were thinking and Ralph was NOT a construction worker. He drove a bus.
