I don't try to get my Racers or clients to cut corners on enjoyment. Especially on on a big eating Holiday like Thanksgiving

Hey Everyone,

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope that we do two things this holiday. One, truly be grateful for whatever it is we have. Two, set aside time to do as much as we can for others who may be less fortunate. Don't get caught in the trap of making this just a shopper's bargain holiday. (Instead buy Racers Workout with a click and get ready to kick some butt in 2012.)

Oh there is a third thing: Enjoy the day fully and come out just as fit or fitter than if the day never happened.

Here's some strategies to add to your fitness "day game" that will make it go by without turning you into a total butterball.

1. Do a good moderate or high intensity short cardio workout. You'll feel great, relaxed and it will help you better metabolize your food.

2. Have two larger glasses of water an hour or less before meal time. This will help you feel fuller sooner when eating and really aid with digestion.

3. If alcohol is in the cards, have a mixed drink instead of multiple beers. Lot easier on the stomach.

4. Try everything on the table in small amounts, make a conscious effort to eat at a 50% slower pace then usual. This will let you enjoy the meal too.

5. If you want to really eat a lot, make it turkey, sweet potatoes, gravy, vegetables dishes. Go lighter on the stuffing, white potatoes, and breads.

6. Be the person who is up helping put everything away after the meal. Staying on your feet for a mere 15 or 20 minutes after eating is always key. Especially after a big meal like you'll eat on Thanksgiving.

7. If you do go overboard, no big deal. It's the holiday after all.

Talk to you all after the Holiday. We're gonna start to get in depth on off-season strategies to be super ready for 2012.
