Joey Saldana, ok, getting better, looking forward to the future

My longtime friend, client, and KKR team member, Joey Saldana was in a bad wreck a couple weeks ago. He continues to recover well. That is great news. A return this season is a little more in doubt because of the needed rehab on his arm.

This from his Joey's wife Shannon on Twitter on Tuesday: At this point it's not looking like Joey will be racing for the remainder of the season. Time will tell.

I am going to tell you something, if there is a way to get back this year, he will. If not, look out next year. It also looks like he'll be working with the folks at Pit Fit on his rehab. They are great at what they do. We'll be highlighting them in future issues of the magazine.

The fitness emphasis on the major circuits like WOO and NASCAR is impossible to deny. What you are now seeing now is an all level growth in Racers looking for that edge and trying to make themselves better drivers. Repeat after me Racers and really all of us: We are competing first against ourselves. Master who we are and what we can be. Then it will enable us to master our outside environment. It could be the race track, our home life, our faith or whatever. (just so you know I was right there reciting it along with you because it is a lesson worth really mastering.)

Try always to strive to be the change in our every thought and action. When we do that, we will win more at whatever we focus our energy on. Spencer Gallagher gets that and knows that racing is safer and easier to be good at if he is in shape with a race focus.
