Action: The true difference maker in achieving exciting things
I am Russ Bohaty. I have been a personal fitness trainer for professional athletes for many years. The job requires that I bring my background and knowledge in the areas of health and fitness and peak performance to each client. The thing about high performance athletes looking to achieve their goals is that they have limited time for fitness routines. Fitness is essential but often not the core acquirement of their chosen sport.
I work directly with multi race winner Kasey Kahne from NASCAR Sprint Cup fame. While he is a dedicated convert to the idea of being physically fit, his major concerns are not centered there. Guys like Kasey or Joey Saldana are high performance dedicated individuals. They must know the why of what I ask them to do. This is really how I supply the proper motivation. If it is has purpose, they'll do it.
As I grew and evolved with my clients, it occurred to me that their needs in the area of personal fitness were not a lot different then it is for average everyday folks like you and I. We all have limited time, we all want results and we need to understand how the plan fits into the larger picture of their goals. My challenge personally has been putting together a racers' workout and whole body health formula to create the unique mental and physical results you see in a NASCAR driver. It is definitely a work in progress.
It is very exciting for me personally to try and create that crossover of the great qualities I see in my professional clients for the rest of us. They have mental and physical durability, a youthfulness that defies their ages, tremendous focus, unheralded physical strength. People all want to live better, be stronger, healthier and live long vibrant lives. There is so much to take from the regimens of these drivers, that I struggle mostly with what to leave out.
The funny part is that I saved the real point of all this workout and life improvement stuff for the very end. Any of the pros, be it Kasey Kahne, Brett Favre, Mick Jagger or whoever, get nothing done in any area without moving towards something. Action is the whole game. My workout, the tae bo workout, the Tony Horton P90x workout, the jazzercise class at your local Y, are all only any good if you take action and move on it. Most any good instruction with solid research and experience behind it has merit. The action you take in following the plan without trying to outthink it will create results that dazzle.
